In its own words

README.mdyogeshtk/ai-workspace

A local folder setup that replaces Google Workspace using Claude Code and plain markdown files. No subscriptions, no cloud lock-in, no apps to open.

Inspired by this XDA article.

How it works

Each folder has a CLAUDE.md file. When you open Claude Code inside a folder (or point it at the root), it reads those instructions automatically. You then talk to it naturally — no commands to memorise.

The root CLAUDE.md is the master brain. Folder-level CLAUDE.md files override it with specific rules for that folder.

Setup

1. Clone or download this repo

Or just download the ZIP and put the folder wherever you like.

2. Open Claude Code

Point Claude Code at the root claude/ folder, or at any subfolder to work in that context only.

In Claude Code desktop: File → Open Folder → select claude/

3. Customise
  • Edit the root CLAUDE.md if you want to change global behaviour.
  • Edit each folder's CLAUDE.md to change how that folder works.
  • Rename tracker/items.md to something meaningful (e.g. pitches.md, projects.md).
  • If you use Obsidian, set your vault path in notes/CLAUDE.md.
4. Start working

Just talk to Claude Code:

"Create a note about my meeting with the infrastructure team." "Add a task: review the Q3 budget by Friday." "What did I plan to do last Tuesday?" "Run the triage skill."
