README.mdTobMes125/ai-workspace

A documented Markdown workspace for working with AI assistants across sessions.

I use a private Obsidian vault to keep project status, decisions, research and working rules in files that an assistant can read. This repository explains that system and provides a small, fictional workspace to explore the approach. It does not contain my private vault.

The problem is continuity: a new conversation should be able to find the current decision and next action without loading every note or treating an old daily entry as current truth.

Explore it in five minutes

  • Read the worked example: one project, one decision, one session handoff.
  • Open the example workspace, or open template/ as a vault in Obsidian. Plain text editors work too.
  • With Node.js 22 or newer, run these commands from the repository:

There are no npm dependencies and no install step. The checker reads the example files and exits with a nonzero status when it finds a problem. It does not rewrite notes or contact a model.

System overview

The files carry the state. Obsidian provides navigation and editing. The assistant reads selected context, performs the requested work and updates the relevant records. The user remains responsible for decisions and external actions.
