Welcome! In this workshop, you'll learn how to build powerful no-code workflows using Claude Code Skills and markdown files. No programming required - just markdown and clear instructions.

Why Build Workflows with Skills?

You already know how to talk to Claude. But every time you start a new chat, you start from scratch - re-explaining your process, your preferences, your steps. Skills solve this.

A skill turns a repeatable process into a one-line command. Instead of typing a paragraph explaining what you want every time, you type /task-manager Plan my day and Claude already knows:

  • What steps to follow
  • How to categorize your input
  • What format to output
  • Where to save the result
  • Consistency: The workflow runs the same way every time, no matter how tired or rushed you are
  • Speed: A 5-minute explanation becomes a 5-second command
  • Shareability: You can hand your skill to a teammate and they get the same quality output
  • No code required: If you can write a bullet-point checklist, you can build a skill

Real-World Impact

Think about the repetitive knowledge work you do every week:

The pattern: Any process you do repeatedly that follows steps can become a skill. The skill is just a markdown file describing those steps.
