In its own words

README.mdsechan9999/job-search-ai

The job search framework that runs on your machine.

An AI job application framework built on Claude Code and React/Vite web dashboard for Vercel. Point it at any job posting URL or text and it evaluates position fit, tailors your CV, drafts cover letters, and builds customized interview preparation packs — all locally on your own machine using your own source documents.

What is what

This repository holds two things, and it matters which one you are looking at.

The pipeline — a set of Claude Code skills and slash commands in .claude/. This is what evaluates a posting, tailors a CV, drafts a letter and builds an interview pack. It reads your documents from documents/ on your own machine and nothing leaves it. This is the product.

The dashboard — a React page, deployed here. One tab on it does real work; the rest are an interface preview and say so on screen.

  • Job Evaluator — computed. Paste a posting and your CV and it reports

keyword coverage, a per-category breakdown, the terms the posting asks for that your CV does not contain, and a constraint audit for salary, work arrangement and years. All of it is deterministic matching against the lexicon in src/lib/skills.js, run in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no API key. When a posting contains no term the lexicon recognises, it returns no score and says why — a number for an unassessable posting is worse than no number. npm test covers that behaviour.
