In its own words

README.mdhec642/surgery-writing-assistant

A multi-agent manuscript authoring framework for surgical educators and residency programs. It orchestrates five specialized agents through defined production cascades to turn clinical experience, operative cases, and curated evidence into publication-ready drafts — case reports, journal articles, conference abstracts, posters, book chapters, and evidence reviews.

This repository contains the framework only. Personnel rosters, COI disclosures, patient case material, curated literature, and finished manuscripts belong in user-specific directories that are excluded from version control. See Populating the knowledge base below.

What this is

A set of Markdown-defined agents plus routing/orchestration instructions that Claude Code can execute against your local literature library. The framework enforces:

  • Evidence integrity — every factual claim cites a knowledge base or library source
  • ICMJE authorship validation — all listed co-authors are validated against your author directory
  • COI disclosure tracking — every listed author has a tracked disclosure status
  • HIPAA Safe Harbor — case material is either fictional composite or formally de-identified
  • Structured handoffs — each cascade step produces a named deliverable consumed by the next agent

It is explicitly not a drop-in SaaS product. It's a set of conventions and prompts you fork, populate with your program's specifics, and run against a local literature library.
