In its own words

README.mdDavidLavu/career-ops

An AI job search agent — offer evaluation, tailored CV + cover letter PDFs, portal scanning, pipeline tracking.

It runs inside an agentic coding CLI: Claude Code is what it's built and tested on, but the agent's brain is plain markdown instructions plus a few Node scripts, so it also works with other agentic CLIs that read AGENTS.md (e.g. OpenAI Codex CLI) — see the note below.

Works for any field. The shipped examples are finance roles (the maintainer's field), but onboarding rewrites the role archetypes, scoring emphasis, and portal searches for your target roles — engineering, design, marketing, whatever. No coding required: you talk to it in plain English; the scripts in this repo are the agent's tools, not yours to operate.

What it does

  • Paste a job URL → full evaluation report (role fit, CV match, salary research, interview plan) scored out of 5, rendered as a styled HTML report you can read in your browser
  • CV generation → tailored, ATS-optimised PDF per application, generated from your master CV
  • Cover letters → one-page PDFs matching your CV's design, written in your voice
  • Portal scanning → searches 45+ configurable company career pages and job boards for new roles matching your targets
  • Pipeline tracking → every evaluation logged in a tracker with status (Evaluated → Applied → Interview → Offer)
  • Interview prep → STAR-format story bank built up across evaluations
