ships CLAUDE.md and nothing for other agents.
In its own words
No plugins required.
This is my personal Claude Cowork setup. I'm putting it on GitHub because a few people asked how I organize my work with Claude, and it was easier to share the whole thing than explain it in DMs.
If this is useful to you, borrow whatever works. If not, no worries. It's built around how my brain works, which might not map to yours.
What this is
A walkthrough of how I set up my Cowork workspace:
- A dedicated workspace folder on my computer
- Context files that tell Claude who I am, how I work, and what "good" looks like
- A project structure that keeps every project self-contained and portable
- Zero plugins, zero command-line work
I'm not a developer. It's all copy-paste prompts and folder creation.
Two paths through this guide. The default is copy-paste prompts: you create an empty folder and Claude builds the structure. If you'd rather have everything pre-built, there's an optional starter download in Phase 3. Same end result either way.
Should you even do this?
Probably not, if I'm being honest. Claude's Personal Preferences (Settings → Personal Preferences in the desktop app) covers 80% of what most people need with zero setup. I built this because a paragraph stopped being enough for me.
