README.mdbradford-marais/claude-finance-workspace

A ready-to-run Claude Code workspace for finance work — financial models, industry research, written content, and the full meeting loop (recaps → action items → prep for the next one).

You answer a few questions on first run and it tailors itself to you. Then you just work.

Setup (5 minutes)

  • Node.js 18+ (node -v to check)
  • VS Code

And install the Claude Code extension from the VS Code marketplace.

4. Launch Claude in the folder Open the integrated terminal in VS Code (` Ctrl+ ``) and run:

First run, it'll ask you to log in. Make sure you launched it from inside this folder — that's what anchors it to your workspace.

5. Run setup In Claude, type:

Answer the questions. It fills in your context and you're ready.

6. (Optional) Install the launch shortcuts

This adds three aliases so you can launch straight into the workspace without typing the full command:

After installing, open a new terminal and just type cs from anywhere — it jumps into this folder and runs /prime for you.

How to actually use it

  • After a meeting: drop the transcript in Meetings/transcripts/ (or just paste it) and run /recap.
  • Before a meeting: run /prep — it pulls every past recap and open action item.
  • Researching: drop sources in Research/inbox/, run /research .
  • Writing: run /draft — it writes in your voice and pulls from your research.
  • Start of day: run /prime to see open action items and what's mid-flight.
